Gokyo Lake Trekking is a trek which begins at the mountain airstrip in Lukla. It is a one hour flight from Kathmandu. Our destination is the high altitude lakes of Gokyo at over 4200 meters. Less frequented than the E.B.C. route the trek provides some tremendous high altitude trekking and a visit to the second largest glacier in the world. From the top of Gokyo Rithre is some spectacular mountain views including Everest. We return to Lukla and catch our flight back to Kathmandu.
Gokyo Lake Trekking will take you to the area that is surrounded by mountainous valleys, alpine lakes, and numerous glaciers. It is less crowded than others in the Everest region and takes 12-14 days to complete including travel to and from Kathmandu. This moderate to difficult trek reaches a high of 5000 meters, a superb hidden Himalayan valley
Culture: Tibetan Sherpas and their unique culture.
Mode of trekking: Popular in Tea house but the trek can be operated in both tea house and camping on request.
